JOHN
Studio Director
John is the Studio Director and has been passionate about photography from an early age. It’s a career that has seen him travelling the world (not that he ever talks about it…) through to setting up his first portrait studios when he was fresh faced and full of beans in his early 20’s, many many years ago.
His life revolves around his family with wife Lindsey, twin boys Arthur & William and, of course the studio which is his second home. These combined most definitely keep him on his toes!
John takes great pleasure in conducting many of the client viewings and loves seeing client reactions when viewing their images and offering help and advice on how to get the very best from them for years to come.
LINDSEY
Relationship Manager
Lindsey and John have been married since 2010, after giving birth to twin boys William and Arthur in 2014, she is now part of the studio team working on various projects within the business. Before having the boys Lindsey worked in client facing roles so has continued to work in this area at the studio by maintaining the corporate relationships which have been set up in the local area.
Lindsey is always on the hunt for someone to come and help with the boys when John is working (any offers…?) she loves spending time with her family and occasionally being able to escape to have a few hours away from the chaos to catch up with friends.
CHRIS
Head Photographer
Chris is head photographer and has been with us for some 17 years!
The most enjoyable part of the role for Chris is providing families with timeless images that they can cherish and be proud of, and hopefully have on their walls for 20+ years. Chris also enjoys the challenge of relaxing and easing the concerns of the more apprehensive clients, bringing out their personalities and ultimately capturing the perfect expressions at the perfect moment.
Other than his 3 children, Chris’s other passion is comic books and super hero’s, his favourite being Batman, who adorns one of his dressing gowns. Chris is also a keen footballer and plays 5 a side on a Friday night with a bunch of old men.
Chris has a growing interest in tattoos and has a submariner on one arm and an angel on the other, however, he is struggling trying to persuade his wife to let him have a Cat Woman tattoo covering the entirety of his back.
ROSIE
Bookings Manager
Rosie is head of the bookings team and has been with us over 7 years.
Rosie enjoys being the starting point of the families journey with us and preparing people for the experience ahead. A large part of Rosie’s role is finding out about the members of the family and learning about their personalities interests and hobbies, and in turn, providing them with ideas and suggestions on what to bring along and how to make the most of their session with us
Rosie has a firm interest and no shortage of talent in professional make up and is always in demand when friends and family have days out and need to look their best
Rosie has a keen eye for fashion and is always shopping online, although she has managed to have items sent to the wrong address on numerous occasions by accident!
BEX
Digital Artist
Bex is our digital artist!
Bex’s job in our studio is to provide the finishing touches to your images before sending them off to print; whether it be removing blemishes, bruises or dog fur off your clothes, Bex can do pretty much anything to make your images special and exactly how you want them.
Aside from retouching, Bex is a huge metal head and loves going to concerts and collecting tour t-shirts at every one she goes to – she’s got quite the collection now and is always adding to it! She’s planning on going to Bloodstock this year.
As well as this, Bex is also a self proclaimed Star Wars nerd (her favourite films are The Empire Strikes Back & Rouge One) and an avid gamer. When she’s not in the studio or out at a gig you can probably find her stuck to her Playstation.
Even though she’s our Digital Artist – Bex has a degree in photography as well. However, her photography passion lies in Landscapes. One day she dreams of opening a coffee shop in the Lake District with her partner selling coffee and her own work.
KATIE
Photographer
Meet Katie! Having grown up in Warrington, she’s the one to ask for any recommendations of fun things to do in town. With a background in Newborn and Family Photography, Katie loves unleashing her creative side in sessions to make each one unique and memorable.
With a huge passion for music, Katie loves gigs & has a bit of an obsession with buying tour t-shirts each time – she sure has quite the collection! After years of playing air guitar, Katie recently picked up a real one & is fast becoming our very own Rock Star!
Traveling to 15 different countries, as far as Rio de Janeiro to visit one of the Wonders of the World, Katie is looking forward to the next time she can jump on a plane and see more of what the world has to offer!
EMILY
Photographer
Emily is one of our photographers!
Emily has always had a passion for photography, with a love of capturing moments and connecting with people. After training and working as an actor, Emily began turning her curiosity for photography into a career. She began taking headshots for performers and creatives, and this was her way into the world of portrait photography! Her years of experience on the other side of the camera has given her a compelling edge when it comes to photographing her own work.
Although Emily is now behind the camera, you’ll still often find her reading a good play or taking trips to the theatre. However, the entertainer in Emily lives on, as you’ll notice in her shoots. All the worlds a stage of course!
As well as being a photography addict, Emily loves visiting art galleries, music, travelling, fashion and is also the world’s biggest cat lover! You’ll also more than likely find her around the studio with a can of Pepsi Max in her hand!
DIONE
Photographer
Dione has always been obsessed with capturing every memory in her life – always the friend taking photos of every moment.
Previously training as a dancer and aerialist, she enjoyed the glitz and glamour of a career on stage, spanning almost 10 years. Knowing that performing was going to be a limited career, Dione kept up with her passion for photography after studying it as a GCSE. Now with years of experience under her belt as a newborn photographer, she loves staying creative by designing incredible shots from behind the camera.
When Dione isn’t taking photos, she can be found at home with her husband Rob and 2 cocker spaniels; Betty & Leon. She loves cooking all things Italian, listening to country music and travelling the world at any opportunity. Dione also has a huge obsession with whales and is slowly ticking off species she has seen around the world on several whale watching tours.
Dione’s favourite part of this job is meeting and getting to know so many different families whilst capturing the most precious moments in their lives.
CHRISTINE
Bookings Consultant
Christine loves working at Bartleys as she is all about family and pets, she is mum to James and little fur baby Ernie who occasionally comes to work as well and stinks the office out with his trumps – typical French bulldog!
Christine is fascinated by Egypt and is slowly learning to read hieroglyphics and hopes to visit inside the great pyramid one day.
Christine is also really into keeping fit and loves running when she can.
BEV
Weekend Reception
Meet Bev the Brummie!
Bev originally started working with us for the ‘Little Face of Christmas’ event that we hold at Bents Garden Centre each year. Bev is known as ‘Mrs Christmas’ to everyone she knows- she always goes all out!
During the week, Bev works at a school, then she meets all our clients at the weekend, making a fantastic brew before appointments. Bev loves seeing all of your reactions when collecting wall frames.
Being a mother to two and a Nana to 4, she loves meeting families and seeing the characters of other children come out. She also has an ever growing collection of funky pens… our favourite is the Christmas one, sending the sound of bells ringing around the studio every time she writes anything down!
ALEX
Weekend Reception
Alex is the weekend receptionist at Bartley Studios and is here to make your experience as smooth as possible. He loves chatting with you when you come for your photoshoot and is always on stand by to make a cup of tea or coffee.
During the week, Alex studies Media Production and Technology at college; he loves making short films and is currently working on a documentary on pets! In his spare time, Alex has a passion for watching old movies and is a huge fan of Doctor Who.
His favourite part of the job is helping you when you come to collect your photos, and he’s always more than happy to lend a hand in getting them safely into your car.
MABEL
Our Studio Dog!
Here is our cuddliest team member Mabel the Cavapoochon… She started at Bartley Studios in the Summer of 2019 and quickly settled in. She tends to stay in the office but occasionally makes an appearance in the viewing room to help you choose your images. She takes a starring role in our social media and loves a little Instagram selfie. She has each member of the team wrapped around her little paw and gets endless tummy tickles from each of us. We love you Mabel x
